Dr. Larry Gottlieb, O.D., Doctor of Optometry
Larry grew up in Long Island NY. His famous childhood neighbors are the Baldwin brothers, Jerry Seinfeld and Carlos Gambino ( the godfather). Don’t get Larry upset ! Larry attended Washington University St Louis ( all presidential debates are held here + the 1904 Olympics). Johnny Weissmuller (Tarzan) still holds a school record at Indian State where Larry swam NCAA ( they don’t swim this distance anymore..lol) He graduated from Pacific university with his OD degree (member of the honor fraternity) before turning 24. His son Donald joined the practice in 2010 after graduating from Southern California College of Optometry. His daughter Jacqueline is an attorney in Orange County and his wife , Sheri, works for Re Max in Lakewood.
Larry gives back to the community by being a member of the Lakewood Lions Club (eye care for the indigent residents of Lakewood), Lakewood Rotary Club, OC PHilharmonic Society (2016 Parade Captain for the Huntington Harbor Boat Parade), and Flying Samaritans (free eye care in the Baja, Mexico).
He is an avid boater ( has a masters 100 ton license), fisherman (numerous Marlins..still looking for the record hook up) and scuba diver. He has been on the winning crew twice on the Newport Ensenada Race. He has also sailed to Hawaii, the Indian Ocean, the Barrier Reef and recently crossed the Atlantic (2015).
His mantra is one and done. (Getting things done right the first time) He strives to solve your vision problems with the best technology available.
Donald S. Gottlieb, O.D., Doctor of Optometry

Education:O.D. from Southern California College of Optometry, B.A. in Psychology, University of California San Diego - Reveille College
Dr. Donald Gottlieb graduated from optometry school in 2010. His externships included working for the Veterans Affaris hospital in Southwest Tucson, AZ, the Navy in San Diego, and Dr. Hawleys' office in Rolling Hills Estates, CA.
He enjoys practicing the full scope optometry has to offer from disease management such as glaucoma to vision therapy for conditions such as convergence insufficiency.
Dr. Donald Gottlieb has many hobbies he enjoys in his free time including: scuba diving/snorkeling, going for drives to random destinations, playing video games and watching football.
Interesting Fact: Dr. Donald is a 4th generation optometrist.
Mary Kim Hoang, O.D.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Biophysics, University of California at Los Angeles – 2010 Doctor of Optometry, University of Health Sciences – 2015
Dr. Mary Kim Hoang was born and raised in Long Beach, California. She graduated from UCLA in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biophysics. After UCLA, she attended Western University of Health Sciences where she got her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2015.
While she was a student at WesternU, she was the American Optometric Student Association Trustee and has attended various trips to Washington D.C. and Sacramento to lobby for the Optometry profession.
Growing up in a humble background, she has always been a firm believer in giving back to the underserved population. Along with various health fairs in the local area, she has volunteered on many different trips abroad.
Baja, Mexico – Spring 2014 and Tijuana, Mexico – Spring 2015
Through Lions Club Friends in Sight, she has volunteered on trips to Baja, Mexico in Spring 2014 and Tijuana, Mexico in Spring 2015.
Coya, Peru – Summer 2013
She has also volunteered with VOSH organization where she traveled to Coya, Peru in Summer 2013.
Vietnam – Spring 2015 and Phillppines – Spring 2016
The latest nonprofit organization she has been involved with is Global Health Force. Although this organization has an emphasis on medical primary care, she helps determine eyeglass prescriptions and dispenses glasses to those who would otherwise not have access to medical necessities. Through Global Health Force, she has gone to Vietnam in Spring 2015 and Phillppines in Spring 2016.
Dr. Hoang has an 8 year old son named Jax and loves to travel on her free time.
She hopes to be a part of many more future volunteer trips and hopes to bring her son along when he is old enough. She is proud to be an eye care provider and is passionate about giving her patient the highest quality care.
